If you have a proper Tempco or OEM part number, getting the price and availability is easy.
Tempco part numbers:
First, let's look at what makes up a proper Tempco Part Number.
All Tempco part numbers have a prefix that starts with alphabetical characters. Those characters define the type of heater or product. All current heater part numbers will have a prefix of three alphabetical characters followed by five numbers without spaces in between.
Note: If you come across an older Tempco part number that does not follow the current format you will have to contact your Tempco Representative.
Here are some examples of proper Tempco HEATER part numbers:
- MBH00123
- HDC23654
- THE01111
- BCH02563
- CRB20032
There are other types of proper Tempco part numbers; they are used for component parts or subassemblies. There are two formats for these part numbers: four letters and four numbers with a dash between them, or three letters and two sets of three numbers, each separated by a dash.
- LDWR-1090
- LDW-103-123
- CERR-1001
- CER-101-107
- HSGR-1013
- EHD-108-101

OEM Part Numbers
Unfortunately, there is not a common format for OEM part numbers. If you have a Tempco heater and only the OEM part number, go ahead and try entering the number as it appears on the heater. With SA3, the part number must be entered exactly as we have the number in our system or you will get the message: "Consult Tempco for pricing".
Please contact your Tempco DSM/TSM with the information that you have if SA3 cannot recognize the number you are trying to enter.
What do the characters after a Tempco or OEM part number mean?
If they look like this, "C0823", it's a date code. "C " is the month code (March), "08" is the year (2008), and "23" is when the part was stamped (23rd day of March). DO NOT include these characters when entering a part number.
Looking up a Tempco or OEM part number.
- Enter your Tempco or OEM part number in the appropriate box and select Look up price.
If you have entered a proper part number, a new screen will appear and display the part number, the list price, and a limited description.
Note: Discounts are not displayed until the item has been added to a shopping cart. The program does not support or cross reference competitor part numbers. (For complete details see article: Pricing and Availability.)
- To see your price and the current lead-time, enter the number you need in the quantity box and select Add to cart.
Note: If you have entered a proprietary OEM part number a notice will pop up saying: "You have specified an OEM proprietary part number. Your order acknowledgment may have an alternate part number for the equivalent design." Select OK to proceed.
- You will be taken to the shopping cart page where you will see:
- the part number
- a brief description
- any note relative to that part number
- the list price
- the quantity you entered
- the unit of measure
- your discount
- your NET subtotal for that item
- the days to ship if you were to submit that shopping cart
Your net subtotal may fall under our minimum order policy. The minimum order requirements will be noted within the shopping cart. If you have questions about our minimums please contact your Tempco representative.

Factory-Supplied Quote Number
For convenience, it is possible to add a Tempco Factory Generated Quote to the shopping cart and submit a purchase order for that exact factory generated quote through SA/3.
Note: There is no way to change a factory generated quote number within SA3.
To add a Tempco factory generated quote number to the shopping cart, enter the quote number in the appropriate box and click Add Quote to Cart.
You will be taken to the shopping cart with the quote number in it. The shopping cart will not list the items contained in the factory quote, their values, any details or valid lead-times; it will only contain the quote number and the description of "Quote number from SA2".
This non-standard shopping cart has limitations:
- Only the referenced quote number can exist in the shopping cart.
- You cannot make changes to the factory quote by adding notes in SA/3; they will not be displayed for order entry.
- You will not be able to add a Tempco generated quote number to an existing shopping cart or a shopping cart that contains any items.
Search for Product Category
Not sure what a particular part number prefix means or which product box to select?
If you have a proper part number, enter that part number prefix (the three alpha characters) in the Search for Product Category box to see links for that product category design page.
You can also search by entering a key word or words like, "Mica Band" or "Cartridge Heater".
Entering just one word like "Mica" will provide a broader range of design links including those designs with "mica" as part of a word, as in chemical.
The Results:
You will be taken to a page that lists the results from our database. By clicking the Select button next to the item you are looking for, you will be taken to either the design page for that product, or a listing of part numbers. If the Select button is not underlined, the item cannot be specified in SA3.
Search and Select from Tempco Inventory
Say you need to order something from stock for a customer that has a machine down.
With Search & Select from Tempco Inventory, you have the ability to:
- search for a particular design
- select a part number
- place it directly into your shopping cart
- submit an order
With just a few mouse clicks you can have product on order for your customer:
- Select the Search & Select from Tempco Inventory button which will take you to a new page displaying information from Tempco Inventory Viewing Application (TIVA).
- Enter Tempco's part number prefix or a description in the search box. Your entry will be sorted taking you to a list of links for that product category or categories containing the key word you entered.

- Select the appropriate link to view our inventory listing.
- Clicking a part number in the list provided takes you to the Price by Part Number screen where you can enter a quantity and click Add to Cart.
